There may be no better time to travel in southern Ohio than in the Fall. It is the perfect time of year for weekend getaways, quick and inexpensive family trips and fun vacations away from home. This fall and into the winter, there is plenty to see in do here in the southern Ohio area and beyond. The Fall 2009 edition of TRIP offers plenty of suggestions about free and low cost vacation spots for singles, couples and families.
One of the highlights of this edition is a look at the “weekend getaway” ideas for those visiting the many historic downtowns in southern Ohio. From Washington Court House to West Union, Wilmington to Hillsboro to Georgetown, our historic downtowns offer visitors plenty to see and do all year round. In the fall, many of our downtowns host fall festivals filled with dancing, music, food and crafts. And the historic courthouse buildings and architecture offers visitors plenty of history to enjoy. Throughout this fall’s edition of TRIP, we point out the many free and low-cost travel adventures for southern Ohio residents to enjoy. In today’s economy, vacationers and weekend travelers need to get the biggest travel bang for their buck. That’s is why we want everyone to know where the most affordable, family-friendly adventures are located for this fall. Have fun!
