By JAN SNYDER Ghost hunters of all ages will enjoy the Haunted Hills Express which departs the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway depot on Oct. 10 and 17. This train is scheduled for an 8 p.m. departure and lasts approximately one and a half hours. As the train travels along the track, ghostly tales and legends are shared, as the train passes by the landmarks. Curious ghost hunters can try to catch a glimpse of the “Mothman” as he roams the countryside or perhaps see a ghostly lantern bobbing down the track. Ghostly tales include the Lavender Lady, ghosts of Old Man’s Cave and the angel of the unknown soldiers. At the end of the night-time scenic rail trip, a ghost guide is handed out so ghost hunters can conduct their own search. The Hocking Valley Scenic Railway is located at 33 Canal Street (U.S. Rt. 33), Nelsonville, OH 45764. For more information call toll-free (800) 967-7834. Accepted forms of payment are cash, Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards. Parking is free. The railway is a non-profit organization operated by volunteer members. |
